The challenge is going well. I have been experiencing healthy forms of growth within my day to day life. I plan to see positive changes within the next few weeks participating in this project.

Shoot- with exams and being sick I forgot to check in! Well, I expect im hardly the first person to make that mistake. Speaking of sick- bought a covid test to make sure I didnt have covid, and I didn't! Then I rewarded myself with cinnamon rolls and a ginger/green shake. Technically its all vegetarian, even if I had like, 3 cinnamon rolls for...

This challenge helped me build better habits that I could do on a daily bases to limit my own C02 footprint. As I continued to participate, I realized that the hardest part was just starting, after that then it was mainly about holding myself accountable. My words of encouragement for future tasks are trying not to start off perfect but to aim...

which watching the webinar on Natural refrigerant solutions, I learned about  HFC refrigerants which are synthetic man-made chemicals typically used in air-conditioning and refrigeration units.  I was surprised that Co2, ammonia, and hydrocarbons are naturally occurring refrigerant solutions that are less harmful to the environment than the...

This morning when I was getting starbucks I brought my own reusable cup so I didn't have to waste a plastic one from the store and I got a discount for bringing my own cup in. I thought this was really interesting because it promotes people to use less plastic and thats hard to find in many big food/coffee chains. Many people don't know about...

Eating more meat, specifically red meat, increases greenhouse gas emissions and puts a strain on the planet in terms of livestock needing space to live which adds to deforestation, food to eat, and water to consume/for the crops for livestock.

It was very difficult to find foods but specifically snacks that don't have palm oil in them so I started eating more fruits instead of like chips or candy which has been more filling honestly. I've been eating a lot of persimmons because they're in season right now.

I work in the hospitality industry and at the front desk whenever a guest asks for extra items (like toiletries, coffee/tea, etc) in person we provide them in a small plastic bag for ease of transportation. I asked my general manager if the hotel would consider a budget allocation for paper bags or reusable baskets to provide to guests to...

This has honestly been a lot of fun!
  • November 9 at 11:19 PM
It was a big project and it took teamwork between my roommates and our landlord but we were able to re-mulch our front yard! With the cost split between several people it was more manageable and the work itself was minimal. Some racks did most of the work for us. My only objection is the red mulch used because of the dye process (iron oxide)...
