every time I go into the BUGS school building we have a sustainability lesson outside and we plant things and help in the garden. I do that 2 times a week.

There is also a gardening activity at our school. However, we only do it once a week. I enjoy this activity in addition to other lessons like shell shockers because I love plants.

While dishing food out, we tend to load our plates with more than we need. Using smaller plates helps to mitigate this. Aside from the environmental benefits, what other benefits might come from eating/serving smaller portions?

We have to wash fewer dishes which can save our time and use less water

Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our bodies, our planet, and other people?

People in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places because meat is expensive and people eat it so others think they are richer than they are (AKA showing off). This may not make sense but if you were inviting someone over for dinner and you got a smoked salmon chunk to share, you are considered rich. Eating too much meat is bad for you because you get high cholesterol if you eat too much of it

What is the link between women and agriculture? What vital roles do women traditionally play in the farm-to-table cycle in India?

On link is that women do a lot of things that people think that men do. In the article it said, "In addition to protesting, women have taken on the entire responsibility of managing their farms and households back in Punjab. These women are also ensuring there is a continuous supply of rations, blankets and other essentials needed at the protest sites." This shows that women do a lot more work than you think and stye are important to the farms in India.

The link between women and agriculture is that most women in India work as farmers and harvesters in India. They play a vital role in selling and growing crops.

How did Jaysa leverage her power as a young person to make sustainable change? How can we come together as a community to put pressure on developers, policymakers, and factory owners to make better decisions so that Black Americans don't have to continuously deal with the consequences of environmental racism AND advocate for change? People deserve to just exist and not have to fight for existence.

Jaysa uses her power as a kid to speak from her heart and not care what anyone else thinks. She knows that things aren't right and she fought for her right and soon she got what she wanted.

Jaysa used her power as a young person to create change by organizing protests and raising awareness about environmental racism. Myherbalife
To make a sustainable change, we must come together as a community and pressure those in power to make better decisions and advocate for change.

A lot of people exclude women and overlook them even though they are doing just as much as men.

One of the barriers that exists to women's equal participation and/or representation in your community is finding good pay. I say this because men are paid much more for their work than women are paid for. This is because many people are sexist and don't care about women's rights.

How can this guiding principle show up in our school community on a regular basis?

Guiding Principle: "We are committed to disrupting the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and “villages” that collectively care for one another, and especially “our” children to the degree that mothers, parents and children are comfortable."
I think that BUGS can be a community where we collectively support and care for one another and look out for each other as if we are family.
